What:  The Eastern Carolina Artists Association is organizing a Fall 2007 Art Walk/Celebration to coincide with the opening of the Idea House for Coastal Living magazine which is being built in River Dunes.  The Art Walk will be held on waterfront in Oriental on Hodges Street as an outdoor fine art show for approximately 50 artists.   This activity is open to include any fine artist who wishes to participate.  Parts of Hodges Street will be closed so artists can set up along the street and on the grounds and porches of local businesses. The Planning Committee is currently working with the Tourism Board, Chamber of Commerce, and Arts Council in planning and sponsoring this event.  The event will be announced in print, television and radio advertising.

When: Saturday September 15 (rain date September 22) 2007.  Set up will be from 7:00 till 8:45 AM and take down between 4:00 and 5:00PM.

Who:  Any fine artist may apply to participate by completing the attached application.  Spaces will be assigned on a first received basis.  This is a fine art show and sale to include original works only. Paintings, drawings, sculpture, jewelry, original fabric and fiber works, pottery, stained glass and photography will be accepted.  No items from a kit, someone else’s pattern or design, or mass produced items may be sold.  For questions about eligibility contact phone numbers listed below.

Participation Fees:  There will not be a participation fee per se except that we request that each artist contribute 7% of any sales up to $30 to be collected by the Committee and distributed to local nonprofit charities.

Space Availability: Approximately 50 spaces 8’by 12’ or larger are available.  There is no electricity available.  Umbrellas and tables and limited tent set ups are welcome.  Many but not all spaces have some shade.
